To be honest with you that your opinion my 2003 does just fine and is almost pushing as much hp as a Eccoboost. They are all good trucks but they all do have problems

ok here it is (2001 F-150 ,Lariat, SuperCrew, 4x4, 5.4L, 59757 Miles, automatic tranny and everything like seats windows, 2 sets of good wheels n tires, one set is 20 inch, burgundy color) should get it for 13000 to 13500. that sounds good?
I am moving to PA in a cpl years and I don't think this 99 f150 will make it through the rough terrain through Alaska and Canada, that's why this 01 with low mile might become my keeper and can use it to tow or haul all my stuff safe through and keep the truck for a long time I hope cuz I like the colour n all the features, ty

To answer your question about 99-03 vs Newer trucks. From what i've read the earlier 3v engines have cam phaser issues. The spark plugs these years are also difficult to change. There's a few other issues with the 3v but I can't think of them right now. All in all I'd stick with this generation.

That's what I was thinking, they almost make the same power while this generation makes it at low rpms, I already changed spark plugs myself on these 2v a couple times in just 2 -3 hours
(just the crash test makes you think alittle much about this Gen, but heyit can happen with any vehicle that's just luck, lol)
