busted passenger key lock
So, first time poster here..
The other night at the local watering hole, someone decided to screwdriver punch my passenger side door lock and rummage through my belongings in my truck... Question-- is there an easy or inexpensive way to have the passenger door lock replaced and fit my current key?

Possibly. If the interior part inside the handle is not completely broken, you could possible put it back together.
Both my locks were punched before i got my truck and were never fixed. I took the door panels off and found the lock in the bottom of both door.
My pass side lock would not work with the key and the retaining part that held it in place on the door handle was completely broken. I just used some hot glue to put it back in place. Since the lock no longer works (and I have electric locks and keyless entry) I am not that worried about it.
My drivers side still functioned, but the retaining part that held the cylinder in was mostly gone. I used a hose clamp along with hot glue to put it back in place. Only problem now is I can't seem to get the lock rod from the key cylinder to the door latch/lock mechanism connected. Truck is still not driveable (a whole different issue) so I have not messed with it since I at least have the hole covered. I found 2-3 wasp nests in each door (and a few dead wasps).
Look at the Jimmi' Jammer website for some pics of the inside of the handle (plus some things to prevent this from happening again).
Also, e-bay has replacement handles (in black) for like $15 shipped if your is too torn up to re-use. You can also use the pass side back door handle from a Supercrew or Expedition as a replacement that does not have a keyhole if you don't actually need the lock.

what about just adding the keyless entry to it? ive seen floating around Amazon that you can get a 3 key remote and instructions on how to program it.. however, doesn't the truck need pre-installed parts to configure this correctly? what am I missing?
