burned gas smell
the problem is pretty straight and forward, mm drove the truck and another potential problem arose (i think there's a correlation here) but she noticed and now i noticed when the trucks is started there is like a burnt gas type smell, i notice it more when i turn the truck off and its only outside. moms bf says it smells more like burnt oil.
whats causing this?

Maybe oil is leaking on the pipes or something, hard to say.

I doubt you're smelling burnt gas. Gas burns pretty quick and pretty clean, particularly compared to oil.
For you to smell oil burning, there's a leak somewhere and it's getting close to or is coming into contact with some part of your exhaust.
Have a look yourself at the exhaust up under the front of your truck and at the back of the engine for any dark or discolored wet spots.

How about natural gas, does it smell like that? Like a skunk might be close enough.
Check your fuel/vapor lines. Emission lines. The main line starts at the firewall, runs down to the frame rail (drivers side), then to the back. You can also smoke test that line.
