Default Bullbar question.

I was really thinking about putting a bull bar on my truck. But they are ridiculously expensive. I checked eBay and found these http://m.ebay.com/itm/251385737836?nav=SEARCH it seems pretty off brand and generic. What do you guys think?

I'd be leery of rust. Ive seen multiple occasions (including my own truck) where lesser quality grille guards, side steps, etc. Have rusted do to paint chipping off. It looks nice though, as far as protection those style bars arent that great but they sure are handy for mounting lights. For that price id say go for it if you really wanna buy.

Price is good, I would look around Craigslist though.

Mine chipped due to brush and other items found offroad, but once chipped the poorly done paint peeled off around those areas, causing even more surface rust. Honestly if you drive it mostly on the street, in a salt-free part of the country you should be okay. If you go offroad and tend to drive over brush and whatever else is in your way, a fresh coat of paint or spray-on bedliner would help alot. It really just depends on what conditions the front end of your truck goes through.

i ordered one for my truck from eBay and it came with rust on the skid plate portion and scratches on the bar itself. I called for a replacement and they said they can't guarantee a rust free skid plate so I said **** it and got my money back.

I had one on my old truck and never had to worry about rust. The black part is powder coated and I could see issues with paint chipping but I didn't leave the pavement much so I wouldn't know how durable they are off road.

My off brand has survived several hits with trees. Well worth it.
