Default Bull Bar?

The Deer are thick around here and I drive in the country allot. I'm considering putting a Bull Bar on to protect the front end. Seems like the wrap around brush guards are not sturdy enough to whack a Deer. Any downsides to a Bull Bar?

When you whack a deer with one not only is it going to tear up the front end it's going to bend the frame horns.

Agreed. They're pretty much only useful to push shopping carts out parking spots because some lazy dick couldn't walk 20' to the cart return.

If I was seriously concerned with high speed impacts I'd look into ranch hand bumpers or road armor bumpers. Adding a little tube in front won't help much if at all. Full bumper replacements is what you should look into.

Nothing will protect from hitting 150 lb at 45 mph. Except insurance.

My daughter had couple deer run into the SIDE of her car about a year ago. She saw them on side of road, slowed to about 25.....bam..they ran right into her. $4200 to repair. Driver and passenger doors, and front and rear quarter panel damage.

I hit one in my 95' Z71 years ago. I can say a lot of bad things about that truck, and GM but it was a tank. I was able to bolt on new parts to fix. Grill, bumper, lights. Just ordered chrome parts instead of painting. Heck that truck took a hit to passenger front tire /bumper that totalled a civic, with no damage at all. Civic went under bumper, hit frame and tire, vehicles bounced apart.
