Default The Brightest Whitest Headlamps

Recently, I purchased and installed a pair of these on my 2000. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...362473&jsn=490

Aside from not fitting well, they came complete with a not so lovely yellowish tinged light. Anyone here in F150 land that made a change to their light set up that is really fantastic that you could recommend? Much appreciated.

Harley/Lightning housings with Phillips Extreme or NAPA Night-Breaker bulbs are generally agreed upon to be the best you can do, unless you want to go full bore with a projector retrofit. (LED bulbs and HID kits don't work in halogen housings.) I've never seen those lights. They look odd. Kind of like the "jeweled-reflector" clear ones that came in an old Ranger I had. The pattern was abysmal.

Yes! That would be the best word to describe them. In fact, if it wasn't for my fog lights.... Anyways -

I found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/97-03-Ford-...=Model%3AF-150

and then these with the black background. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-97-03-...rd!33165!US!-1

The profile view seems to look like the same config that my XLT 2000 had (exact prongs etc.) So, I presume just because of the fancy Harley name the housings are all still the same through '03?!?!

Napa Nightvision Brightest. They have a 3 year warranty too, so if you kill a bulb, it's on NAPA.

Perfect. Thanks! In your opinion, are all those housings above essentially the same in terms of fit?

Those two are virtually the same except for the chrome vs. black trim inside. I have the black ones. There seem to be two versions of these. One is made in China, the other in Taiwan. The Taiwanese ones appear to be a bit better made. There's no way to know which ones you're buying, though, unless perhaps asking the seller.

Thanks for the correction on the bulb name, White. It would be interesting to put those side by side against the Phillips bulbs, but I can't justify spending the coin.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm presuming that what fit the Harley model, the XLT etc. was all the same fit up through '03?

Very cool. Out of interest I checked with both sellers of the above lights and the are both Taiwanese!
