Default Brake causing Trans issue?

I replaced the trans in my truck last Dec. because it was shifting really hard and now the new trans is doing the same thing. I'm thinking its something besides the trans. possibly an electrical issue somewhere. But also my rear brakes don't work and haven't since I've owned it. Replaced lots of stuff still don't work. Could my rear brakes not working be causing the trans to mess up?

I vote that they are not related.
No brakes.. wow... so many things could be wrong...
Do you have vacuum assist brakes? or is there some other reason you think that they might be related?
Without looking at the truck, it is really a tough call.

Im stumped on the brakes.. I think I might bypass the rear ABS valve under the master cylinder.. Has anyone ever done this?? Every once in a while when I hit the brakes only the rear will work and they lock right up, so it seems that all the pressure is going to the back. But the trans I took out last year was doing the exact same thing as this one. Does anyone know what else controls the shifting inside the trans from the outside?
