J/K, I'm not a Ford vs Chevy guy, I just bought my wife a new Cadillac for Xmas. Besides, the 4.3 is a darn solid motor and in 90% of the millions of 16 - 24ft boats on the water.

You are good! That's exactly what it is though I'm pretty sure it's rated at 200hp at the prop. Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 2. Yes its a 4.3 Vortec so noting out of the ordinary, just another Ford towing a chevy

Why would he try? I'm always in 4x4 when on the boat ramp. I've seen too many memes with trucks in the drink. lol

Yes I can and often do launch and retrieve in 2wd on ramps I know well. I have the FX4 rear end with the limited slip so I'm sure that helps with 2wd work. I always inspect the ramps before I dunk her but if I don't know the ramp well or don't like how steep the angle is I throw it in 4wd just to be safe.
If you have a LS rear end you can be very confident that the truck will have no problem pulling 4,000+ lbs out on a paved or poured concrete ramps. I've been able to pull her out on gravel ramps in 2wd as well though I wouldn't advise gravel with a 2wd truck. When I try it is only because I know I'm just 1 button away from 4wd and often I have to use 4wd to get her out.

Yes, this was done on purpose. Found a perfect match to the Ford green in the form of a Regal Bowrider. Even with the 5.4 the 4,000lbs behind her is...well, not unnoticed. This is the biggest load I've ever hauled with my truck. It did a very good job towing her back from the white mountains here in NH.
My brother sais it looks like one of those toy's they sell with the truck and matching boat.

Nice match for sure. Got a question being your near White Mountain. Do you know where that steep grade is I think its on the north side of it? Came off it around 1986 with a semi. I was on the south side and the road I need to run was shut down. So had to drive east then north and back down to put off a Spectrum Oil drop. Man it was the bad grades of all grades. Want to say it was marked around 15% but felt way steeper. Even with the jake brake on stage 3. It was a mean one just not long.
