The radio should come with a manual that shows you which wires go to what. the wires should also be labeled with what they are with some sticky tape. The orange doesn't go to anything and the solid blue is usually remote wire (goes to amp) to match the wire in the amp kits and the other is power antenna. As far as the extra black wires they shouldn't be going to anything. Did you check check the fuse in the back if the radio? there should be a small red 10amp fuse where the wiring harness plugs in

that sounds about right. the solid blue is usually the remote wire (the one to the amp) an the blue with a stripe is power antenna.

i got it figured out i had a blown fuse a bad ground and the illumination wire i had to splice no big deal thank for all of yalls help

it's usually the simplest things like a blown fuse or bad ground wire that wind up happening lol. where did the illumination wire go to an why'd u have to splice it?

there ended up being only one wire on the harness for the dimmer and the illumination wire but on the radion itself there were two sperate wires and i already had them hooked up so i just spliced it plus it was a reason to convince my wife i needed a new tool!
