Has anybody out a body lift on their truck/suv without using a steering extension? Ive got a 97 expedition I'm wanting to put a 3" body lift on and was wondering if I could get away without using the extension?!?

i just did a body lift on my truck and had to use the extension, but i dont see the big deal as to why you wouldnt want to use it. its not hard to install?
