blend door actuator
does anyone have a test procedure for the actuator? I've been searching, but no luck. All I found was lt bl/pink stripe wire is power. Mine doesn't have that color.
Also, I can't turn it by hand, according to some posts I should be able to.
Number 5 fuse is good.

I noticed that you've started 3 threads on the blend door. You'll find it a lot easier for everyone if you stick with the same thread on the topic.
Take the harness and plug it into the motor, then rotate the **** from hot too cool. It worked for me.

I did find power to the actuator on the green with red stripe.
I did try the **** with the actuator out, no movement or clicking. Looking for electrical test procedure to determine if the actuator is bad or the temp control switch

Did you buy a new motor you are trying to check, or is it the original? Honestly, if it is out, you should consider replacing it with a new one no matter what. The old white boxes get really brittle over time. I don't know that anyone is going to have the values needed on here, except maybe AKdoggie.
Did you do what I told you in the other thread? Did you pop the cover off the old actuator and see if the gears were gone? You might be chasing your tail for no reason. It is VERY common for those gears to strip/break.

Here is a how to on disassembly.... also explains the two most common fail points on these actuators. I'm doubting it is your ****....

I did disassemble, gears look good. I hate to a new one and find out it's the switch in the dash, and vice versa. There must be a way to test the output from the dash switch to see if it's sending the right signal.

OK, the auto parts store let me try a new actuator. That was the problem. Blend door now moves as it should.
White89gt, thanks for the help and for putting up with my multiple threads. Shocks are next, see y'all soon.

OK, cool. Yeah, there are two problems with them..... the motor brushes and the gears. I'd say most of the time it is the gears. That same style motor is used in a few Fords.... they just bolt up differently. Electronics and gears are basically the same - and they all have the same issues.
