Best AT Tires & Size
Looking for some help on tire selection. I hunt and fish but spend most of my days on the highways of NY. Snow and rain are issues. Backroads where I work are sharp and narrow. I need to replace all four tires and I want something beefy looking that can handle unpaved and muddy roads but I have to keep wet road traction in mind. I do not drive off road for recreation. I'm not going to Moab anytime soon Suspension is stock. no lifts or modifications. currently i'm running 255 70R 16's.
Have at it folks.
Thanks in advance.

So if it were my truck I would look into a set of 265/75r16s not enough bulk to slow you down but enough to give you a little more height. I have been running Toyo At2s for more than 50k miles now and have used them in everything but snow... we dont have that in SC. lol
Really though, any reputable tire company (BFGoodrich, Toyo, Nitto, Falken, Cooper) will be a good choice.

There's only a few tread patterns that preform really well in all climates. I looked for a set with deep tread that wouldn't hydroplane in a heavy rain. Absolutely love the tires I have now, also the truck has never produced the mileage I'm getting now in the past. The bad thing I can say about them, they hit the bumps a little harder. That's because they are E rated and need 65 psi to road right. I attempted to run them at a lower pressure. They preformed terribly, hit the bumps and pot holes even harder and sucked the fuel. Big improvement once they were aired up correctly. I'll purchase these tires again someday if I keep the truck, but won't use the E-rated again, -not for a half ton anyway.

I've been pretty happy with my Cooper at3. Only bad thing I can say is it 45k they're not as quiet as they were from 0 to 25k. But that's pretty typical.
Tread wear is proving to be pretty amazing my tyres look barely worn. The Tread still looks deep. Theres still siping in the tread blocs. At this rate they easily make 100k if I wanted to take them that long
More tread at 45k than some tires have new...

I have been running P265 75 16 Toyo AT2s for about 2 years. I really like them. Some overlanding sites have put a bit of fear in me about the lack of puncture protection on P rated. I can feel the weight and circumference difference dramatically from the P245 summer tires I had on before. I think changing shift points would make it tolerable with the 3:55s and 4.6 but in a perfect world I would love some 4:11s.
