Ball joint issue
Hey guys new on here and having a bit of a problem with these cv axle bolts. Looks like theyre rusted on pretty good and have no idea how to free them. Ive been spraying the crap out of them with some blaster and have been trying to "gently" rock them but theyve nestled deep. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe heating the bolts up a bit to maybe get the bolt to expand and contract to break the rust but I dont know if im lurking near dangerous waters.

They come out hard because of Loctite, haven't broke one of those yet. Reef on it. You can use a little Mapp if you like.... to break down the LT and any minimal corrosion, bolts are clean inside the housing.
I used Blue Quikstix when reinstalling. Quikstix is Loctitie, the good stuff, NOT Permatex.

they get frozen up. Try using a center punch and a BFH from the bottom. Sometimes they need to be cut it half completely or try an air chisel on the center punch.

Jesus I didnt realize exactly how much play this joint had. definately the source of the viberation/shake Ive been having. I ended up knocking the collar off and sliding the link out. Im guessing I might as well replace the drivers as well?
