Default Bad fuel pump?

My 2002 F150 will not start. Cranks over fine and I have had the battery on a tender. Not even a little sputter when trying to start. I don’t hear the pump make any noise when turning the key to the on position. I depressed the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and nothing came out. Engine will fire with starting fluid in the intake. Inertia switch is Ok as is the fuse. I see 12v at the fuse with the key in the on position. This all seems consistent with a bad fuel pump but I was wondering what else I can check before replacing the fuel pump. I really don’t want to drop the tank, it’s 3/4 full.

dropping the tank is easy, remove pump and dump gas into 5 gallon buckets, reinstall pump and put empty tank back in.
then put gas back in.

Default Relay check

How can I check the relay? Does seeing 12v at the fuse validate the relay operation?

What is the best source for the fuel line disconnect tool? Is it really necessary?

Have u heard about this thing called a .....siphon?

Emptying tank isnt big deal. 5 gal buckets are cheap, $5 each. Or....you can get creative like.....put in another vehicle, etc.

I always use the cheap chemical pump I got at harbor freight. I hear you can take off the bed. Bet them bolts are rusted though.

I had the same problem a few years ago and replaced fuel pump by removing the bed. You will need at least four guys to help. However, that was not the problem. It turns out that the connection that goes into the PCM was dirty and not making contact.
