Back at it again
Some of you know that all year long I’ve be messing with my truck. transmission swap PI Heads Just problem after problem so here is the short version. timing guide failed causeing a valve to get bent which then cause cylinder washout because the fuel never burned again in that cylinder. So here we are. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...e9e191623.jpeg I pulled my old engine to pillage the new timing set, PI heads, water pump, head bolts and gaskets. Im gonna warranty the head bolts and gasket so they will be fresh. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...188579664.jpeg Got this bad boy from a 05 F150. My neighbor told me when i 1st got it just slap that bad boy in but i said hell no and tore it down and found it had THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS MY ENGINE. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...723e44cca.jpeg Here is the 05 motor torn down so i can check all the endplay. Luckily the endplay was fine so i dont have to burn another 1300 buck at the machine shop. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...c12abd7cb.jpeg Here is my 02 motor right meow waiting to be torn down. Im gonna frankenstien the 2 motors together. To make one good one. |
I wuz under impression that 2005 was 3V and 9.8 compression, and couldnt be installed in our gen trucks anyway.

The 05 4six isn't a 3V for the 150's.

Brass Plugs makes it look like a race engine. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...beba01a5a9.jpg Cleaned up the intake manifold and timing cover. The timing cover is on top of the intake manifold. |
Last update for the weekend
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...8468797584.jpg New set of Pistons. The 2005 pistons has cracks so i got a new set. I'm gonna take them to a machine shop to be assembled. |
Just dropped off the pistons to be assembled. $90 to put the pistons on the connecting rods and for the bolts that go on the connecting rod caps. Swung by pepboys and got the Ford Corporate Blue for the valve covers and got the main rear seal. |
