When I need major torque, I use the handle off my older jack on a breaker bar. No idea how much torque it makes but it's a lot.

1AAuto used an impact in that video but I doubt my impact makes that kind of torque.

My impact will do like 1400 ft-lb..... But when working with hand tools that's a good excuse to buy a torque multiplier

Mine is only 650 ft*lbs. I should probably upgrade that.

Only time I need that kind of torque is breaking something like a harmonic balancer bolt. Rest of the time it's liable to do damage.

Yeah, I like that mine has three torque settings. On low it makes ~75 ft*lbs which is perfect for pre-torquing wheel nuts.

More top end is always better, though. Better to have it in reserve for when you need than to wish you had when you need it.

Or as Ron White would say, "I don't know how much torque it makes... but I know how much I'm gonna use!" :P

Awesome to hear! Sorry it's taken so long to reply, it's been a crazy 2 months for me. Oldest son got his Eagle Scout and we had a lot of family in town, I got Covid then he graduated from high school, we ran to Vegas for a few days, I somehow came down with strep throat for only the 2nd time in my life, he shipped off to boot camp and then the rest of us went on vacation. It's been a whirlwind 2 months! Did you get your gears done already or still waiting?

That's an eventful couple of months!

I am still waiting. I had surgery and just came off weight restrictions a week ago, and I might push the whole project off to next year now.
