Default Thank you all!

I just wanted to come in here and say thank you to everyone in here who has been very helpful! If all goes as planned I will be posting in the 11th gen after this weekend! Trading in my 02 SCrew FX4 for an 04 SCrew FX4. Let the discontent begin!

Your welcome, but mannn, don't go 04. Go 08 or newer. 04's are problematic and can cost a nice chunk of cash to fix when they go wrong. Seen it too many times with 150's and expy's. Ford didn't get the bugs worked out until some time in 07.

Lol I knew someone would steer me away. I appreciate the concern. What kind of problems? Im aware of the plugs freezing. They are being replaced by the dealer right now. Im also aware of the cylinder miss issue. Which it had and is why they replaced the plugs. They claim it has fixed it but my torque pro will tell me for sure when I drive it. Im also aware that I may need to replace the coils and FPDM if the miss is still present. What other issues do you know of? Cant afford 08 or newer.

Catastrophic engine failure due to leaking injectors for 04,05 and 06. More prevalent in 2005 and Ford will cover 05's, but WILL NOT cover any other model years. Ford admits fault with the 05's but I've witnessed personally 05's and 06's arriving at the same fate. 04's I've only heard of some cases.

A leaky injector will fill the cylinder cavity eventually causing hydro-lock problem. In-turn and if not caught in time condemn the engine to not worth saving.

Copy and past this post in the correct forum. I'm sure someone will chime in with experience. Maybe find away to confirm your 04 or late 04 doesn't have the problematic injectors.

Good luck with your new ride. I like the interiors in those models.

Congrats on the 11th gen, your going to love it. I have a 10th gen and an 06 fx4. There is no comparison, especially with the interior layout and comfort

Man to each their own I guess haha. Personally I feel like the 11th gen interiors are very cheap and poorly built. I see it every day at work. Matter of fact I had one this morning where the shift lever was falling apart and I was worried it would break into pieces in my hand lol. Only had 76k miles on it too. But I've seen them with all sorts of cracks on the interior plastics. Hopefully yours is in better shape though and hopefully you can maintain that better shape. Good luck man, hope it all goes as planned!
