There was an auction on eBay, and I put in a hidden bid, and low and behold, I picked it up. I paid $47.83 (my bid that got accepted), and it's on the way to me. The freight was $16. so for $64, I will have a 200 amp alt to stick on the lil Red truck. I have a 1200 watt inverter, so I think I will add it to the system, run the plugs to the front of the truck, and have power when I need it for small things out in the field. Score one for the bad guys. lol
what model number was it and what model truck do you have? I have a 2003 Ford F-150 4.6l v8 so I'm hoping to find one of those for cheap

Aaron 1998 F150 (lil Red one) with 5.4 is what I bought that for. I did the checking and it will fit the spot, so I'm going to go for it. Most of the CrownVic Police Interceptors have the 200 amp alt's, so that is where I got my inspiration.

I don't have it in front of me yet, but when I do, I'll post all the service and code numbers off it so that others can do this mod and find the correct alt's.

I'd been having this on the back of my mind for some time, but this thread got me off my butt. Luckily I found the CV alt when I was looking around. Most were around 170 to 220 in price, but when I hit the auction button, this one came up. It had 17 hours left, and the highest bid at the time was 21.++. I set a snipe bid for up to $75.78, and I luckily got it for the $47.++. $64, with freight, was a great buy in my book and if I don't use it, someone will. lol

I got a 130A remanufactured Motorcraft alternator to swap out my aftermarket 95A. It was plug and play. No longer belt needed and fit right in. I got the alternator from Tasca. As a Volunteer Firefighter, I needed the higher amps to run my lights and siren

Part #: F6UZ-10346-VARM3
Desc: 130 Amp alternator, remanufactured
$146.82 (including a $75 core which you get back when they get your old one so its like $71.82). The shop wanted $60 to swap it out. Works great!

I think you'll find the $75 core charge was *on top of* the $146.82.

P. S. I think yours is the thread I linked to earlier. Good info in that one.

Aaron. It turns out to be a 190amp alternator, not 200 as they listed it. I did some checking, the 200a is mounted differently, so this 190a is an exact match. The number on the unit was 4W7Z-10346-AC and is a 190 amp alternator.

190a is more than enough and since it was only $64 delivered. I feel I did good and saved a boocoo of bucks. The unit is a reman'd Delco Remy. It didn't say the name of the brand rebuilding it in the ad, but was happy to find it was DR and not some off brand name.
