Has anyone added a aftermarket coolant temp gauge. Where would I screw in the sending unit to the motor. Where is the stock coolant sensor located on the 97 4.6l 4x4. Maybe I can replace the stock sensor with the aftermarket sending unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Curious as to why you want one. Is yours not working?

My programmer shows my coolant temp.

I just like knowing what my true readings are like oil pressure and voltmeter that I already have. I want the same for coolant temp. Plus just ordered the triple gauge a-pillar pod and want coolant temp as my third gauge. Also converting to dual efans and want to moniter temp.

I had a water temp a pillar gauge. There's a threaded plug on the crossover bar on top of the engine. I have pics somewhere but that's where I put my temp sensor

Yep, thanks! I also want real gauges on my '02 5.4. I think even the oil pressure gauge is not a real pressure gauge. Seems I read that it's just a needle instead of the old light. I want the real thing! Got to check this out...
