My tc is locking in 4th gear, or during the 3-4 shift. When should it be locking and is there anything I can do to fix the problem. I'm not very knowledgable with the internals of the trans and what sensors are on the outside. Thanks for any help.

There is nothing you can do and sounds like it's working fine long as your od light isn't flashing.

Just drive that baby.

If od is blinking your only hope is a loose connector at the shift solenoids under the passenger side of the truck.

Check fluid level too.
