Default 99 XLT exhaust

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I looked around but couldn't find anything. I was looking at the Flowmaster American Thunder, and found it for 399 at auto anything. They only have the option for the 5.4 Lightning supercharged. My truck is neither a lightning, nor a supercharged. Will this kit still work? I was under the impression that the exhaust is the same system

Does anyone know the answer? This is for a 99 XLT ext. cab regular bed if anyone's wondering. I would think the exhaust systems would be the same but the muffler in the kit has dual entry and exit. I'm not sure if the stock is a 2 entry system.

No it is not you have a Y pipe into one after the cats. You'll need a SI/DO muffler.

Check out the exhaust clip library and find a setup you like

If you have an exhaust shop in or near your town, buy a muffler and have them install it with the piping. It will be half the price.

The county I live in does emissions testing. I believe that chopping my mufflers or cats would cause me to fail emissions.
