99 f150 supercab 4x4 265/70/17 tire suggestions

Hi guys,

I Just recently had bought a 1999 f150 Supercab 4x4 and the truck came with 265/70/17 Mastercraft Courser's. My problem is that I had found a nail in the driver rear tire and it is the last tred closer to the side wall. I was told by more than one tire shop that it can't be fixed because it is too close to the sidewall and they said I would have to replace all four. The Mastercraft Courser's that are on the truck are discontinued. Mastercraft came out with Courser's 2 model tire. I would have had about 10,000 more mile out of these tires if it was not for this problem. I had considered replacing all four with the courser 2 or going with Toyo Open Country A/T. I think that the Toyo may have a lower rolling resistance than the Mastercraft but the Toyo might be a stiffer ride with it's harder side-walls. At same time the toyo might give a better highway control. Any suggestions on a tire this size? PS. not looking for an all off-road tire. Looking for something that I can do mostly street driving but serious enough for dirt roads for Camping/fishing and aggressive for winter/snow.

I just pulled those Toyo's off my truck D/T a friend giving me 305 65R17 BF G AT's. The toyo's were and awesome tire and I had no trouble at all from them.

:DJust put on new Toyo Open Country A/T tires today. These tires are great. They have totally change my truck's ride with major improvement. I have drove two other trucks with these tires, one on a friends truck and the other on my dad's truck but it has been about 5-6 years ago and really forgot how nice these tires ride. The Toyo's are way better than the MasterCraft Courser A/T tires that I had before the Toyo's. When driving on the highway the Toyo's give an awesome safe stability control feeing and don't feel squirmy like the Mastercraft's. I thought the ride would be really stiff with the stronger sidewalls, I was wrong, the ride is really good considering the aggressive treds and stiffer sidewalls. Again I really forgot how nice these tire are until I had put them on my truck and now realize the differents from the old tires to new Toyo tires. I just got them and I already love them. Thank You Toyo!
