I have a 99 F-150 with a 4.6L V8. Most times it would start fine, but Every now & then it would turn over but not fire up. I could wait a few minutes & it would start fine. Now it won't start at all. I shot a little starting fluid in it & it started for a second, then died. I took the fuel line off after the fuel filter & turned it over, with nothing coming out. I then removed the line from the tank going into the filter, turned it over, & still no fuel. Does this sound like the fuel pump, & if so, how difficult is that to change for the averavge backyard mechanic?

Yes, sounds like a bad pump. Have to either drop tank to replace or remove 6 bolts securing bed and a couple of guys to lift and block up bed for access.
