98 f150 turbo, wastegate , exhaust opinions please!
I just got a 98 f-150 base cab. Low miles, can't remember exact mike's right now. I am young and like it loud and to sound strong. I am wanting to get a turbo with a waste gate, then put flowmasters on it. Can I just get a turbo with one of those blown off and waste gates or whatever, or do I have to buy one of those $500-$800 turbo cooling kits? And also what an exhaust that's loud, that will go out the sides behind the rear tire. I was thinking flowmasters, but can go guys please help lead me in the right direction?!?! Thank you for all help I appreciate it!

Impractical
Do you have experience with turbocharging? Do you understand how a turbocharged engine works?
I'd recommend starting with some research:

Yes sir I have experience with turbos, but it's with cars. Not with Trucks though. I don't want to get some big expensive turbo that's gonna give me the most PSI gain, and horse horsepower. I would just like to get a nice turbo with a wastegate. What are your thoughts about that?

When you're looking at a few grand for a turbo setup, what's another $500?

No I'm not doing it just for sound, I'm just saying that I'm not wanting to get the most expensive turbo with the most horsepower, just a good turn that is still going to crank out horsepower, and sounds good

There is so much wrong with this post.
First of all, turbos will generally quiet and smooth the exhaust tone, to the point where a muffler/resonator of any sort is almost unnecessary.
Flowmaster's claim to fame is that they use the exhaust pulses to scavenge the exhaust from the cylinders, making a unique sound and adding horsepower.... but adding a turbo between the cylinder and the flowmaster eliminates the pulses and renders the flowmaster basically useless.
last, the OP didn't even mention engine size. 4.2/4.6/5.4? 'base' implies 4.2L, and there isn't much to make them sound 'loud and strong'.
how about a nice 3" SI/SO exiting in front of the rear tire. Simple, lightweight, and loud (depending on the muffler). A turbo setup is like $4k to setup right, The aforementioned 3" exhaust is $250ish.

That helps a lot, it is a 4.6. That smooth turbo sound is what I'm wanting. I didn't know that with a turbo flow masters is useless, so that helps a lot. Thank you for your help here
