98 F150 rear end squeak
Hey guys, my brother bought a 98 F150 a few months back. Recently it has developed a rear end squeak/squeal. I haven't driven it much but I did a few weeks back when the squeak started. When you are going 65+ and slow down (just coasting, no break) and then speed back up a loud squeal sometimes comes from the rear. It doesn't do it every time tho. My mom has been driving it recently since her expedition is down (fuel pump) and she said today it made as super load squeak when she was turning out of the parking lot at work and it squeaked the whole way home but not as loud. And it gets fast with speed. I drove it when she got home and I couldn't get it to do the loud turning squeak but when driving it sounds almost like a tweety bird behind you. It's not the tailgate bushing and it gets faster with speed so I know it's rotational. I have it narrowed down to either the rear breaks, one of the pinion bearings, or the axle bearings. Do yall have any suggestions before I tear into it? It has the 9.75 rear end. I know how rear ends work and can do the work since I just changed the gears in my truck. Thanks
