Default 98 f150 4.6L spark plugs

i have herd and read a lot about plugs breaking into 1-3 pieces when removing them. does anybody know if my 98 f150 XLT 4.6L has these type of plugs in it. im not sure if they were ever changed so i am assuming they are the original ones. i have read that only certain years were manufactured with these plugs that are prone to breaking while removing them but would like some advice from some people with experience. thanks

Just some advice be careful when taking them out you have no idea when they were last replaced so you dont have a clue if the last guy never seized them if they turn out hard And remember to blow the crap out of it before removing the plugs because you don't want dirt in your cylinders

The 4.6 and 5.4 are notorious for plugs snapping, If you end up doing them see if you can find a spark plug removal tool from matco or snap-on. Snap-on's part number is FSPK and there list is 92.50 Matco's part number is 98140T they dont list prices in there catalog but my matco guy said there about 125 bucks. I havent looked anywhere else for them but before you decide to pull the trigger and start swapping them out I would suggest you go to your local ford dealer and talk with one of there service guys. Free advice is always good...

The plugs break on the 3 valves. Not the 2 valves.

Working with different engines plugs can break in any engine from quads to big gasoline engines its all on when they were changed and who did the work before you just take your time and be careful when removing them and installing them

I have never seen or heard of it happening on a 2 valve modular.
