Hello Everyone,

Does Anyone know where the Vehicle Speed Sensor wire is located on a 2003 f150 extended cab 4.6L
Im trying to install a pioneer avic d3 everything is hooked up and working fine
i just can fine the vss wire so i can hook up the navi


Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would you need a VSS for a Nav unit?

i think the VSS is on the back of the transmisson?

and doesn't your navi have gps that it could use to figure out speed

It's for the GPS and the D3 has a set of guages and in order to run them you need the VSS hooked up.

It's a grey/black wire. Mine was in the Radio Harness but yours might be different.

Yeah i think 2004 and up is in the radio harness
because it is used to turn up the radio volume automatically at high speeds
but my truck does not have that feature

The wire should still be grey/black. I'm not to sure where to look though.

You will love the D3 btw. I put one in a couple weeks ago and I love it. If you need Nav disk send me a PM and I'll direct you to the guy that burned mine, 25 bucks for both East and West disk.

Yeah man the radio is awesome!!!!!!!!!
Pain in the a** to install the 2003 f150 is not a double din
it is more like a din in a half
so had to dremel the heck out of it
But came out real good looks factory
