Default 97 head lights what are my options?

Been reading on here for a couple of days. Im bout ready to start my build of my 97 F 150 lariat extra cab 4x4. Door sticker says manufactured on 1/97 so................................................
What does that mean as far as lighting options
What are retro fits?
What about halos ? ( thats what my son wants)
LEDs?
Harleys?
I have never upgraded any of my vehicles before so i dont know much about anything LOL

Thanks

Early-build 1997's got one-piece headlights from the factory, so you're pretty much stuck with them unless you get a newer header panel. Do that, and your options open up. The general consensus is that the Lightning/Harley style lights are the best for light output/pattern and longevity. They also just look more "right" in these trucks than any LED-strip/Halo/projector set I've seen, too. I'm biased toward the black Harley's myself.

Youre in luck. Apart from a myriad of aftermarket option, the F150 has a few factory options too. You can go Lightning, Harley Davidson version, and my favorite the Heritage version.

I put a set of lighting headlights in my 97 scab as well as wife's 99 expedition. Really like light output over stock.

I am assuming you *do* have the early-design one-piece lights. If you're unsure, post a pic, and we can confirm.

I didnt know about the 97 having a one-piece headlamp. One piece meaning the main lamp and corner lamp is together?

Yes. Early-build 1997 trucks have headlights like these... (Further reading has revealed statements that the cutoff is July 1996, but I'm not sure.)
