Default 97 front bumper opening

Looking for advice.. I have a 1997 4x4 off-road with factory fog lights. So I have the huge metal front bumper with the honey comb like grill. I also have the sizeable opening below the grill and behind the front plate holder. I have always thought that slot looks empty. Any of you modified the are and added anything there? I was thinking about another grill piece.

I've been thinking about converting over to the 4x4 bumper and doing that to my 98, or just converting over to the 99+ style.

I use that space as my extension cord(winter)/recovery strap holder.

You could always put a winch up in there or get a billet grille insert.

Huge metal front bumper... Sounds like a ranch hand style with expanded metal opening. I'd run a set of offload lights down there.
