Default 97 f250 ld leaf spring shims.

Was wondering if any of you guys have seen something like this from the factory or if this is the work of a previous owner. I pulled some pics up from Mitchell online and didn't see these prices in the diagram. Also haven't been able to find anything like this from the salvage yard. If you look at the leaf spring there 3 little plates between the spring and the spring spacer. It doesn't look stock at all to me.

I am guessing the previous owner put these in there. He had the torsion bars cranked up real high also.

Only thing that should be there is the Factory block with the bump out for the bump stop, nothing more, the added pieces I see are not supposed to be in the sandwich, looks like weak sauce to me, and unsafe.

Decided to drop one side of the rear axle down to check this out. These spacers are part of the spring pack. Definitely looks to be oem. I am assuming that it had something to do with the air leveling setup. Definitely going to have to get some new u bolts now for this side. Anyone know the torque spec for these u bolt nuts?

Did some digging around today and found that this is part of a heavy payload package on the truck. It has an extra inch and a half of lift compared to the normal f250ld and f150. Makes sense that the replacement shocks didn't fit until I lowered the torsion bars.

Are you referring to the missing parts of that hotch-kiss set up? It's to prevent axle wrap.

No. The trailing arms were off in the pics because I am making some poly bushings for them. I was talking about the 3 extra plates under the leaf spring.

Yea, never seen that. I believe factory would have the proper arch springs, - vs what's in the pic. I'm not sure.
