Default 97 f150 performance tuner or not

97 f150 performance tuner

I have a 97 f150 with a 4.6l, and I was thinking of getting a tuner with both a economy mode and a performance mode. I have heard the gryphon is a good one. Any input on good ones, pros and cons, etc...

83 horse gain with a programmer?? What other mods do ya have?? I'm new to the Ford truck scene, but I'd be amazed to see gains like that just from a tune. If so..... I have GOT to get my hands on one of those programmers. What's the specs on it?? Multiple tunes, etc.

Not possible to get 83 rwhp gains from the 4.6 with a tune alone. Regardless of which brand tuner or who wrote the tune. That's more then we are seeing with the ecoboost twin turbo engines and the 4.6 responded even less to tunes then other platforms like the 5.4 or 5.0.

Well that's what I figured. That post I referenced to kind of made it sound that way tho. At least that's how I took it. Hence my sarcastic comment about getting my hands on one. The tuner that was mentioned there is only rated for an 18 horse gain on the 4.6 I think.
