Update Vid. Runs and drives great and on the trip to Indy a couple days ago it averaged 19.6mpg. Here is the vid. More to come when I start the rust repair and paint.

Hauled a 19ft Cabin cuddy boat the other day and still returned 15.7mpg on a 140 mile each way trip. Not bad. She's still running great. Runs on E85 E30 and regular or any mix of the above. Very happy with this truck and the rebuilt engine isn't burning a drop of oil and the oil still looks like new after 3k miles. Time to change it anyways.

I wouldnt run it on anything other standard pump (E10/E15). The factory fueling and timing strategies are not optimized for E30+ and over time will burn up a piston.

I only run it when I can get it super cheap. With all the stuff deleted on the engine people keep telling me it's going to explode at any time. I guess I will post it when it happens.

Hi ametzker,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 4.2l. Have some questions.
You said that you needed only a hone, what was taper and out of round did you measure?
What brand of bearings did you use? What main and rod bearing clearance did you get?
What brand of front or timing cover did you get?
Thanks,
Zoltan

I didn't measure the out of round or taper. I went by feel. Enginetech and dura bond is who I used for the counter balance bearing and rod & main bearings. The crank was turned so I went with the rec size by them with was .010 rod and .030 mains. This was a very budget build, not a race engine so I just used common sense and not a full blueprint engine.
