97' F150 4.2 V6 5spd engine rebuild and egr delete
Hauled a 19ft Cabin cuddy boat the other day and still returned 15.7mpg on a 140 mile each way trip. Not bad. She's still running great. Runs on E85 E30 and regular or any mix of the above. Very happy with this truck and the rebuilt engine isn't burning a drop of oil and the oil still looks like new after 3k miles. Time to change it anyways.
Hi ametzker,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 4.2l. Have some questions.
You said that you needed only a hone, what was taper and out of round did you measure?
What brand of bearings did you use? What main and rod bearing clearance did you get?
What brand of front or timing cover did you get?
Thanks,
Zoltan

A year later and the truck still runs amazing. This year I started another build on FTE forums. 00'F250 rust bucket being transformed to the 2010 front end along with rust repair and top end engine rebuild if anybody is interest here is the link.
