Default 97-99 Ext. Cab Subwoofers

Recently put 2 12" kicker comps in my ext cab and was able to install it under the rear bench seat. Just thought I'd make this thread to help out people that were thinking about getting some!

The following will be a guide how to set up the subwoofers like I did!

1. Remover bottom of rear seat and move it out of the way, I used a 15mm deep well socket and a 3/4" socket to remove the bolts.

2. Run speaker wire from subs to connection terminals in the box, then screw subs into box to secure them.

3. Run all power, ground, radio, and remote wires to where your amp will be located, in my case it was under the drivers seat.

4. Connect all wires to amp (make sure negative terminal on battery is disconnected during the whole process)

5. Bridge both subwoofers to amp (this will give the subs just enough power if you use equipment that I bought)

6. With the rear seat still out, install the box into the cab down firing with terminal cups facing towards the back of the cab.

7. Install both seat lift blocks onto the mounting plate for the bench (longer bolts will be needed for everywhere you took a bolt out)

8. Reinstall rear seat, tighten down all bolts!

9. Turn on your radio, tune subs to your personal preference, and enjoy!

they do, but the extended lip on the ends of the box are there to raise it enough to clear the hump

Is your rear seat once solid seat? My 03 has a split between the two sides I think that box is for 97,98 scabs I could be wrong but my subwoofer box has a slot cut out to go around the bracket for the separate seat

it's one solid piece but they fold out into two different pieces
