Is there any difference in the mounting brackets or any of the grill assembly hardware?
Yep it is different brackets for the 99-03's.. thats all you pretty much need. the grill needs no modification at all, it bolts right in..

Thanks man, Im actually planning on painting everything red except for the valence and the honeycomb part, thatll be painted black.. and the bumper pad, ford emblem, and fog lights are all on the way...good luck

A lot of '99-03 F150 and Expedition part-outs on Craigslist. Pull-a-part is usually picked over before I get there. I might have to change out all (bumper, valence and header/grille) if I can't find a suitable '97-'98 bumper with fog cutouts. @#$%, I thought the Lariat was top of the line - Fogs should have been standard! That '99 -up mod looks better every time!

andyb: I am new and just came across your post. I just wrecked the front end of my 1998 F150 and am interested in replacing the front end as you did. I only totaled the front fenders and grille. All else is fine. Thanks for your input and any suggestions you contribute to this site.
