Well, been looking around with not much luck on winches for our years of trucks, so i wanna see what yall are running, im looking at the RCX 12k for $400(95ft and free wireless remote) cousin wants me to get a harbor freight one called badland, same price but 10 less feet of cable, otherwise there identical, so i guess im looking for quality, im already leaning torwards rcx though since i know em, there both right in my budget , if yall can give me input, thatde be cool too. And share your winches since its doesnt seem to have happened in this forum yet.

If you need a winch on your truck, get something that'll be there when you need it. The Badlands winches are actually not all that bad (for an HF product), but for the same price you can get a used Warn, and the Warn is rebuildable. Good luck getting parts for the dime store Made In China winch.

I have a warn 10k. Just because the name and its rebuildable. The cheap chinese winches are junk. i have on of there Badland 8k on a car hauler and its hard pressed to pull 5-k on a single line. My 10k has pulled out buried superduties and trucks on huge tires with out batting a eye at the load.

I tried to use a 10k badlands winch to pull my scab on a trailer and it wouldn't do it. Then the winch ripped itself off the trailer

I've got the HF 12,000 pound winch on my 02, and I love it. Honestly, I think it's a little too much cable because it barely fits on the drum. I bought a wireless remote for it, and it's proven itself plenty of times. I've easily used it over 20 times in less than a year. It's even dragged my truck out on the frame rails before.

As far as brands go, I would say warn is the best on the market. But, I would only get one of those if I knew I would be using it all the time. I hope your not planning on buying a winch just so you can go pull out friends that were being stupid and got stuck. Let them buy a winch and pull their own selves out with it.
