97-03 LED full guide!!
Since the change over to LED lighting is getting pretty popular I thought I'd add a key to the bulbs our truck's use for those wanting to change your truck's bulbs to LED...
97-03 Ford F150 Light Bulb Fitment Application List:
Parking light uses 3157A bulb.
Tail light uses 3157 (red)bulb.
High mount stop light uses 912 bulb.
License plate uses 194 bulb.
Back up light uses 3156 bulb.
Ash tray uses 37 bulb.
Dome light uses 912 bulb.
Dome light uses 578(festoon) bulb.
Step/Courtesy light uses 168 bulb.
Under hood light uses 912 bulb.
Note- some of these may vary on earlier trucks but it should all pretty much be the same

Also, on your turn signals you will either have to change your flasher module in the dash to an LED flasher(best fix though it will take longer) or wire LED resisters into the flasher harness at the light. If you don't they will flash too fast like you have a burnt out bulb.
A good place to get quality LED's and the flashers/resistors
http://www.superbrightleds.com/
You can also get them off amazon and eBay but quality will vary.
If anybody has questions just ask me or 2000MTZ and we'll be glad to help any way we can, and anybody else with experience can feel free to add info!!

A 194 has the same base as a 912. The incandescent 912 bulb itself is slightly longer and wider at the top, but not at the base, where the connecting leads are. If you want, you can get a 194 LED with slightly more LEDs in the assembly that could be used (longer but not wider; to fit inside).
