Use the Search, there are tons of threads on Electric fan conversions. I used Ford dual fans from the newer Gen F150's with a Painless Wiring kit. I like the Painless kit, not only does it have auto off when the A/C is turned on but it also turns the fans off when I hit a certain MPH I choose.
If I were to do it again, I would use Flex-a-lite fans for less Amp drain. The Ford Fans suck up a huge amount even with the Painless soft start. My Harness was $250, the Fans were about the same I think and the Ford wire connectors were another $30.
Make sure you have a good Alternator that can handle the fans.

What kind of amp draw do the Ford OEM fans have? I have read a few different reports. One said they hit a 60 and settle somewhere around 30 where another said they hit at 35 and settle around 15. I ask because I will need to replace my fans in the not too distant future. I just want the fans as my controller is good and has 70 amp relays but I have no soft start.

It wasn't until later I started noticing the RPM drop because of the amp drawl. I guess the systems just that sensitive.
notes about my truck
*Adding an extra ground didn't seem to help much.
*My A/C is weak so it cycles more.
*I have the DUAL Ford fans. A single that the others are talking about would probably be slightly better.

The Hollister Company did a test on the Taurus and Mark VIII fans. Here's what they said they found:
Now... keep in mind that the high startup spikes are from a dead stop. If it is in a transition from low to high, it would not be that high.
Our testing showed the Mark VIII fan ran 26-28 amps on low, with a 37-40 amp startup spike. On high it had a draw of about 32-35 amps with a 48-53 amp startup spike.
The Taurus fan ran 24-26 amps on low, with a 32 amp startup spike. Then on high it used about 28-29 amps with a 40-45 amp startup spike.

Also.... just so you all know, the Mark VIII fans can also be found in the 4.6 powered Thunderbird and Cougar XR7's.
I pulled this out of a 96 Cougar:

I did a little more digging around and it looks like the Ford F150 2010+ fans will pull 60 amps for a millisecond without a soft start and settle at 30 amps if they are wired together (both fans come on 100% at the same time). If you wire them separate (like I intend too, one being low temp and the other high temp) each fan will pull 30 amps for a millisecond and settle at 15 amps. I would bet that is pretty close to the old Troyer dual fans I have now. The Flex-a-lite fan for the F150's looks great but at over $500 for the dual fan setup seems like highway robbery to me.

I love how they charge a $1 core charge on it...
Wonder how many people would take their old one back to claim their dollar...
We used to have places like that everywhere here in the UK but Health & Safety have put a stop to most of them and those that are left don't let you get anything yourself now...
I used to love going hunting for parts in places like that back in the late 90s, found quite a few nice tools left under bonnets too... lol
