Default 8.8 to 9.75 swap

I am looking into swapping out the worn out 8.8 in my 98 f150 to a 9.75 W/limited slip. I am very familiar with axle work and fab - just curious if its pretty close, possibly bolt in and go. I'm sure some of you guys have knowledge you could share with me. And also how much strength would i gain ? I have somehow avoided destroying the 8.8 so far but a few drive shafts have been bombed ! - Thanks for any input ! It's truck mod time and I dont want to go into this thing blind.

my answer is probably in here somewhere but I'm a "noob" to this site

Yes the answer to this question was discussed in the begining of the week.
About 4 years ago maybe i blew the chunk out of my rear in my old 98 well i wanted to put disc brakes so i slapped the rear from a 99 with limited slip in and it is all bolt and go except the E-Brake you will need the back half that goes with the 9.75 rearend and connect it i think its right around the Driver door on the fram rail.
I never ahd another problem out of the rear end after that. Good luck anymore questions just ask
