The UVW of your travel trailer is like 4-500 lbs more then the fifth wheel camper I posted.
The fifth wheel UVW is 6945 lbs and I'm very cautious about even towing that much. But you've towed your trailer several times with your half ton and no towing issues ? Lack of power ect ?

No, I wouldn't tow it with my 150, that's what your attempting to do lol. Keep in mind, payload is every bit as important as power. You also pulling large top heavy box down the road. There's a lot of weight in their roof systems. If you use this site for set up information, -there's very good information here but also, - a ton of bad information as well, as far as towing with a 1/2 ton. And mann, don't go by those manufacturer's numbers...they are far from accurate!

Well I guess it's time I put this to bed. Yes I know what GVCW is. I've spent the last month doing my research not only here but on several rv websites. FYI there are websites strictly for 1/2 ton rated campers and several manufacturer's have units in the 5k range. I've verified the GVCW for my truck, know the weight of the trailer, have a good idea what it will weigh once loaded and know how much my truck weighs loaded. I would stay well under the limit. I don't mind constructive criticisms but I asked a simple question about installing a hitch myself and the only response I received that remotely addressed the subject was carcrazygts2. A thanks to him. Moderator I'd appreciate it if you'd close this thread.
