Default 5 speed transmission problems...

So i bought this truck in febuary. It's a 1999 single cab 4x4, 4.6 five speed manual. I loveee driving a stick. But this transmission is just acting up, its the m5od tranny. Mazda made it for the rangers but it also was put into f150's. i've heard nothing but bad things about it. I already replaced the slave cylinder, which was a and the clutch seemed to be a good shape so i kept it in. So heres what it does: Its really hard to get in gear sometimes, but never when the engine is cold, and sometimes its like the clutch isnt fully engaging. when im sitting at a red light it kinda creeps forward until i put it in neutral and then back into gear. Is there any way i can adjust the clutch on these trucks, i know their hydraulic but i didnt know if there was a way or not. So if anybody has any information about this pleasee respond.
Also does anyone know of anything performance wise i can do to the transmission, because i want to build an engine to swap in but i dont know how much power the stock internals can take. I'm starting to regret buying a manual truck if i'm gonna have this much trouble with the trans. Now i know its not going to shift like my old mustangs but there hasto be something i can do....

Sounds like the clutch is not getting fully disengaged. Might need to bleed the slave more. Bleeding the clutch can be a real treat. I usually have someone push on the clutch, then open the bleeder. I use a prybar through the inspection hole and push the slave all the way in the rest of the way. This usually does the trick. If it still doesn't want to release all the way, you could have a locked up pilot bearing causing the input shaft on the transmission to continue to spin. Input needs to stop or the trans will be hard to shift and want to creep forward with the clutch pedal to the floor. Try bleeding the clutch some more. Prybar trick does work!
