5 speed bushings
 

Can anybody tell me the number for 5 speed shifter bushings for a 2004 F-150 heritage

Dorman has the whole repair kits for the shifter... part number is Dorman 917-551.

They go for about 20 bucks....

What are the symptoms of the MOD5 shifter bushings needing replacement?
Subject vehicle: 02 Scab 4.2L 239K miles. We are the original owners. Original clutch and transmission and hydraulics. Trans atf fluid has been changed every 60K or sooner. Clutch fluid has been refreshed once.
Several times this year have had problems trying to select any gear from a stop. In the past if it has gotten cranky selecting 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or R would syn up the trans for a successful 1st gear selection.
Do know the 1st gear syncro is weak but double clutching and throttle massaging causes no concern.
Have tried online to find solution but probably am not using the right words in the correct order.

A really sloppy shifter. When in neutral, does it go to the center.... or "home"? Or does it slop to the (usually left) side? It can cause poor gear selection as well, but you know for sure it's in bad need if it won't go home. Also... it can cause the handle to rattle under acceleration.

In neutral the shifter goes to center "home". The gear "lockout" has been with the shifter in neutral and not being able to "slot" into any gear. Sometimes it can feel a little hard to "slot" into gear during normal driving. Wasn't sure if the shift forks were past their life cycle.
