5.4 Triton Low On Power
I've got a 2000 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 with a 5.4 2 Valve with 150,329.8 miles... here lately its been low on power
First off let me start by saying i love the truck to death. But its been giving me problems left and right here lately. Needed a battery, and Alternator. which is a bit pricy for me... considering im still in high school doing small engine repair on the side for money. So i can't keep affording to throw parts at the truck.
I noticed getting on the highway the other day that between 1/4-3/4 throttle it has absolutely NO power. put it to the floor it downshifts and hauls ***.
When in park and revving the truck around 1200 RPM the engine misses and chokes. when driving it doesn't have that problem. and anything above and below that RPM range the engine runs fine.
Fuel filter, plugs, injector cleaning. have been done recently. with in 20,000 miles. oil is replaced every 3,000 miles.
Just today i put a glasspack in place of the stock muffler. (sounds a ton better but still no power, not that i expected it to change anything)
what tests should i perform?
I have heard that the cats could be plugged, and numerous sensors that computer relies on for fuel control could be faulty.
I would like to replace the COP's with Accel High Performance COP's. The ones on there now appear to be original.
Any help would be appreciated. I rely on this truck for my small business and traveling to and from school.

I like to stick with a name brand when dealing with something major like your coils or plugs.
