5.4 swap
#22
Lol that must be the strongest motor ford ever made to not need forged internals. The internals on a standard 4.6 are only good to about 450 before they start to break. If that guy didn't swap his rods out at least...he will wish he did lol

LOL well I stayed at a Holiday INN Express last night...
Dont get all mad because I stated a fact. I work at a dealership as a tech, since your throwing out dealership awesomeness. That doesnt make me any smarter than anyone else..
But if you do some research, you will see the bottom ends of the modular 4.6/5.4 cant hold more than about 450 before they start to have serious problems(sans the 03-04 4v cobra bottom ends because those are forged). Its a pretty well known fact. That doesnt mean that once you hit 450 it goes boom, but its pretty much a ticking time bomb.
No need to get your panties in such a wad over it.

you just don't need to be a smart ***** and call ppl out (makein me look like a lair) p.s Ken has been driving that truck like that for over 2 yeas

Calm down, this thread is about my 5.4 swap, not arguing how much the bottom end of a modular engine can take. I'm not going for huge power, i am putting in a stock 5.4 because there was one readily available for a good price, and it should be an easy swap. I am not going the route of forced induction, I am a college student and just want a reliable powerplant.

Op check the net for swap info. It will likely take you to a mustang board as a lot of ppl have done it, but the info is solid. It's a fairly easy swap to do.
