damn 9 broken studs? How many were broken from turning the wrench? or were they all broken beforehand? I'm wondering if i can try removing the bolts and studs when the head and manifold is still a bit warm. I know they say to do sparkplugs when the engine is cold only.

7 were broke to begin with. The other 2 broke when trying to get the nuts off. Dont try to do it warm, because one you will hate yourself when you burn your hand. The other is the manifolds will hold heat in them longer than the Heads or studs will and will keep tension on the studs. Just have a MAP gas torch and some liquid wrench handy if they dont break. Otherwise have a welder and some nuts handy. If thay fails you will be drilling and pick up a 90 degree drill head to drill the out.

2 hours and a 6 pack to get the manifolds out. 4.5 hours and a 12 pack to get old stud drilled and new studs installed. I used all stainless hardware when I put it back together. I also used Copper based anti seize on the studs. It took longer than it should have because I used a tap and chased all the threads to get the corrosion out. Ended up having about $45 bucks in stainless hardware( Studs, Locking flange nuts).
