My SOTF makes a little clunk into 4 High. No noise at all when I shift to A4WD (auto). How bad is this sound you are hearing?

its not bad GT, when I activate the 4wd high I get a light clicking noise like the hubs are locking in but when I go to low its like a louder clunking noise. it does not sound bad I was just unsure if I needed to lube any thing so I figured I would ask. I have never had 4x4 on the fly , just the Manuel in the floor.when I bought the truck the 4x4 didn't work but after driven it for a while and unplugging the module and re plugging it up it started working .

I hear almost nothing when engaging/disengaging 4WD-HI, but sometimes will hear a slight "clunk" when engaging/disengaging 4WD-LO, since the transfer case gears are actually shifting. My '99 make the clunking sound consistently, but I never had any trouble with the system.
