I didn't mean the hubs, I meant whatever it is that's vacuum operated that locks in the hubs. I don't know exactly how they work yet, but I know something somewhere is vacuum powered. I meant that. And I'm just looking for something newer.

Op wanted to trade, 7700screw told the op to use the 4x4 not working to his advantage and I jumped in and said I did that with my flickering odometer. I guess I slightly thread jacked

No thread jack here, you just said you used what he had said before to get money taken off his price.

There is NO vacuum operated anything on the 4wheel drive system in a 93 f150!
Believe me I have built a lot of "90s" f150s.
Here's my 93

Well then explain to me why I have been told countless times my auto lock hubs on my 93 f150 they are operated by vacuum from somewhere. And yes, auto lock. Factory auto lock. Explain to me how they work then?

Probably someone like you that doesn't know any better! Lol

When you shift your transfer case to 4x4 it sends power to your front diff which turns your axles, when the axle shaft start spinning the front hubs engage with a big spring.
When put back into 2wd they unlock because there's no more power being put to them from the transfer case.

If you go under your truck you would see that there is no vacuum lines on your front diff and definitely not running to your hubs! Lol
