4wd problem
 

Hey guys my 4wd isn't working its the kind on the floor it goes into low and high range but no 4wd and my front drive shaft engages when in 4wd but still no 4wd so im guessing my hubs are not locking in what would cause this i pulled the lines off the actuator on the firewall and both of the lines had vacuum i just dont know where to go from here thanks

Are you sure your front driveshaft is turning? There is no locking mechanism in our hubs.

Check the actuator on the front diff.
And try searching....I have answered this question at least 10 times over the years and each time I go less and less into detail. ;)

I may not be reading this right, but if it's the Manuel shift on the floor there shouldn't be vaccume lines? maybe your transfer case isn't engaging..

Wether it's a floor shift of electric shift they both use the same vacuum operated shift fork on the front differential.
Shifting the tranfercase is only half the process when shifting your truck into 4x4.

I think i found out whats wrong the vacuum actuator on the front diff is bad i think..in the Chilton manual it says to pull the lines off and attach a small hand pump and pump it it should hold some vacuum mine does not the gauge reads zero so i think its bad is this a possibility.
