This raises line pressure across the operating spectrum, rather than at e point of shift, which is what we want. Also, tuning... Done properly can and will compliment it. But, a competent tuner will only raise pressure at the point of shift and ramp up the pressure proportional to RPM. Breaking he tires loose when you pull out of the drive thru will be enjoyable until you spill your coffee on yourself.

Now, who is the jerry guy that is mentioned in the link? He kinda/sorta invented the 4R70W and wrote the TSB requiring Mercon 5. Also, he started a really small company located in Longwood, Fl called SCT, you might have heard of it.
Awesome write up. It says for up to 97 trannies. Do you know if it would be the same for newer trannies up to 04?

From what I remember, he newer transmissions already have a few of the holes opened up. Sadly, tccoa is a shelf of its previous self. A few really big brained dudes have passed away or moved on, thus the old tech has to be searched for!

04 trannies are 4R70E 4.6, 4R75E 5.4 3V & 4R75W 5.4 2V.

The W stood for wideband (ratio) every transmission you listed has the same ratios.

Yeah, they have same ratios but there is a huge difference in the Parts and the way they function because of turbine speed sensor. The EPC solenoid is also different in 04. On 4R70E/4R75E the Sun Shell is non Magnetic to make Input Speed Sensor work.

The problem with 2000 and up 4R70W Valve Body doesn't have an 2-3 Accumulator Plate and Capacity Modulator Valve. Since 96-06 Valve Body are interchangeable without affecting performance. It's much better to use 96-99 Valve Body to increase it's durability and reliability.
