Default 4r70 change

I searched around and dont see any topics on this so Im gonna ask yall for your comments. I have an 02 f150 fx4 with5.4 tritan and 4r70 trans. Im in the process of changing my transmission and installing a 4 inch suspension lift. Tryed taking my keys off the torsion bars to remove the crossmember to remove trans. I couldnt get them to budge so the only thing I could think of was to take the lower a arms off with it. Figured since I already had my a arms and torsion bars off I mine as well do lift. Figured memorial day weekend would be plenty of time to do all this. Ha. Spent the last 3 days under that truck fighting with the trans. It seems like ford made everything alot harder than it needs to be. Spend most of Saturday trying to get all the bolts and so forth out of small holes. Sunday I decided to start on the lift. At least make some progress. Got most of that finished. Just cant get torsion bars back on till I get trans in so I had to go back to it. Got it out Sunday night and got the new one back in Monday but I still have to put transfer case in and my help left so Im at a stand still with lift because of I have to get transfer case on first. My buddy has a z 71 and changed his by hisself 3 times! Anyways im almost finished but just ran out of time and patience. Gonna work on it during the week. Gotta finish cause i have new rims and tires waiting. 36 inch iroks on dick cepek black dc1. Looks good, cant wait to have it finished. Well I just wanted to know if any of yall have changed a transmission in a 97-03 era f150 4x4 and know what hell it is.

Finshed, well almost. Just gotta add more trans fluid and lift up back tires and go through all the gears a few times. Got my lift amd new rims and tires too. Looks good. Measured the top of wheel well and it was 37 inch. Now its 46! Didnt think the lift, bigger tires, and cranking torsion bars would make that big of a difference. I was worried 37 inch tires would rub but not even close. And I got a body lift I just dont feel like puttin on right now. Just spent sat, sun, mon, and wed. on it. Anyone know how long it takes to install 3 inch body lift on f150?

If your asking about first post I was asking if anyone had any comments about changing 470 or similar. Says in first sentence. And second one About how long it takes to install body lift. What are you confussed about?.

the 1997 4x4 trans was an E4OD, after that, they were all 4R70W. The transmission is as basic as cheerios. Starter, bellhousing, dipstick are to be removed. back the driveshaft out and lower the transmission.

communication and procreation are the most basic of human functions. if you have questions about your transmission....for god sakes, ask it. i dont care about your tires, torsion keys, and you buddy's Z-71.

my 1997 4x4 4.6 is a 4R70W, NOT an E4OD, those are on the 5.4

Ok well in the future if I decide to make a comment on something I'll send you a message to make sure its worth your time reading. I was just saying its a b!t*h to change. As for as you saying its as easy as cheerios, your full of ******. Obviously you've never changed one on an f150 around 2002 model. Mines a 4x4 so you forgot to mention torsion bars, crossmember, exhaust, elec. connections, oil lines, linkage, etc. And this is a forum, for people to ask questions, comment, socialize. Tired of seeing d!*K$ like you who dont have anything better to do with there time than criticize peoples posts. If you dont have anything positive to say than keep it to yourself. If you wanna argue with someone online, go on myspace!

....if you know what the problems are, why did you ask? you asked about a 4R70W removal. the stuff is all the same from 1997-2003. i didnt mention the other misc stuff like lines and harnesses, not to mention the stuff under the trans.....thats well to be expected. any moron could figure that out.

Well obviously not. You just said its a four step process and its far from that. So does that make you a moron or are you just full of ****? You just said its simple as cheerios and now your saying any moron can tell it aint. I know what I started this thread about, to ask if anyone ever done the job and had any comments on it. Why did you post your comment? To argue? Thats what you got an ol lady for, Unless you dont so you just look for arguments on here. Look, we can go back and forth about NOTHING all day. My ol ladys waitin in bed for me so I really got better things to do with my time than argue with you. Thanks for your 2 cents but you can keep it. Im done.
