4 Wheel Drive Problems Manual Shift On The Floor
 

I have a 1997 with a 4.6L manual shift on the floor. The shifter was stuck so, I bought and replaced it with a Dorman 600-603 shifter. When I try to shift it in to 4H it goes into Neutral and i have to shut the truck off to get it back into 2wd. Also before I replaced to shift when I would put it in 4H the 4L light would come on. Do I have a bad T-case or what?

i dunno exactly how those work but sounds like you got it hooked up in the wrong position. So when you think you're going to 4h it's really going to neutral. need to unhook and move the linkage to the same spot as the t-case.
